FOMO Season: Staying Cozy in Canada While the World Calls
This autumn at home is all about family, focus, and laying the groundwork for big adventures ahead.
With winter settling in, I’m guessing a few of you are eyeing sunny destinations or finally diving into projects you’ve had on the back burner. This season has a way of making us pause, look ahead, and think about what’s next—and I’m right there with you.
This past summer, I made a big career shift, leaving my corporate job to fully commit to building my own projects. It’s been a mix of excitement and nervous energy (the good kind!), and in this update, I’ll share a peek behind the scenes of what this transition really looks like—the highs, the challenges, and the dreams fueling it all— for full subscribers.
Before we get to that, a note for our American friends. Being home for a stretch meant I finally watched The Handmaid’s Tale, and wow—what a ride. I had put it off for so long, knowing it would be an exercise in infuriation. Now, on the day of the U.S. election, it feels especially harrowing.
My thoughts are with all my friends and readers in the States, particularly the women, LGTBQ, and Trans folks who are under attack and facing an uncertain road ahead. I know this election season has been exhausting, even painful. Just know that no matter the outcome, we’re here with you, standing beside you and holding hope for a future in which every person’s rights and dignity are protected.
With that said, let’s shift gears a bit. I’ve rounded up a few recent pieces for you ICYMI, to keep the travel spark alive and maybe bring a little more lightness to your days:
If you’re looking for an uplifting read outside of the realm of travel, I highly recommend checking out Florence Given’s Women Living Deliciously. (She also wrote Women Don’t Owe You Pretty… this author is kicking life’s butt and taking names, and I’m here for it.)
