We’re Almost 1,000 Midlife Nomads Strong — And I’d Love Your Input
As we approach a milestone: a big thank you, a look at what we’ve built this year, and a quick question... what would make your next chapter easier, braver, or more sustainable?
When I hit publish on the very first Midlife Nomads post, I had no idea who would show up.
Would anyone in their 40s, 50s, and beyond actually want to read about working from anywhere, reinventing careers later in life, and traveling in a way that feels more grounded and sustainable?
Turns out… yes! A lot of you do.
We’re closing in on 1,000 subscribers, and it’s not the number that moves me. It’s what it says about who’s out there. It feels like evidence there’s a growing wave of us who want more.
We want more freedom, flexibility, and autonomy. We want more adventure (the kind that doesn’t require pretending we’re 25 again).
We want to rebuild the sense of community we’ve lost in so many ways, without succumbing to conformity.
We want to travel affordably without having to live out of a backpack or squeeze into a bunk bed (unless we choose to).
We want work that supports our lives instead of swallowing them whole.
We want location-independent income that feels resilient, not fragile. And we want to use the skills we’ve built over decades instead of burning it all down and starting from scratch.

We want the option to stay when we want, and to go when that feels right, too.
We want to design this next chapter on purpose. And I’d love your help deciding where we focus next — so don’t miss the poll below. First, a quick look at where we’re at.
What We’ve Built Together This Past Year
If you joined recently, you might not realize just how much has happened in the last 12 months.
We’ve added 150+ resources to Midlife Nomads, including:
Practical online business and marketing guides
Deep dives on building location-independent income
Travel tips and destination highlights
Real, raw midlife reinvention stories (the messy middle included)
We also:
Launched a free online community on Facebook where you can connect with others walking this same path
Created the 10-Day Skills-to-Income Challenge to help you stop overthinking and actually launch something you can iterate and grow
Built our members-only archive to 50+ premium resources, so you can dig deeper and find what you need for each stage of your journey
Clearly, We’re Not Alone
The emails, the DMs, the comments inside the group, even the people I meet in real life — they all say some version of the same thing:
“I thought I was the only one thinking this way at this age.”
You’re not. There is a growing number of people in midlife who are:
Rethinking what retirement is going to look like
Questioning whether they really want to stay put in the situation they’ve built
Exploring online income for the first time and realizing what’s possible
Wondering if it’s too late (it’s not)
Midlife isn’t the winding down. It’s a big opportunity to level up, if we’re willing to experiment a little.
Now I’d Love Your Input
As we head toward that 1,000-subscriber milestone, I want to make sure Midlife Nomads continues to grow in the direction that’s most useful to you.
Tell me which one speaks to you most right now.
And if you’re feeling bold, reply to this email and tell me why.
Are you in building mode? Dreaming mode? Planning an exit? Testing income ideas quietly on the side?
I read every reply.
The Next Chapter
I want to build something bigger than a newsletter here:
A body of practical knowledge for midlife reinvention
A supportive ecosystem for first-time digital entrepreneurs who are coming into it with decades of other experiences
A realistic, grown-up take on working from anywhere
And a community of people who don’t believe 50 is the beginning of the end
If you’ve been quietly reading, thank you.
If you’ve shared Midlife Nomads with a friend, thank you.
If you’ve joined as a paid subscriber and invested in deeper resources, thank you — that support is what allows me to keep building this archive and creating new tools for you.
I’m grateful you’re here for what comes next.
