I got my DTV in November and now live in Bangkok. I love the city and the country. Very grateful for such a visa (I wish more countries would have an equivalent).
I'm going to have to sort of those taxes next year... it seems very very tricky though as we cannot open a bank account. That's a problem for future me 😂
Amazing, thanks for sharing your experience! Do you use Wise or Revolut? Or are there other things it would be good to have a local account for? I've been able to get by with Wise alone in Central America and Europe but there have been times a local account would have been easier.

Both. I have debit cards with Revolut and N26. And I use Wise to move money around or pay rent.
Also got Morata Pay recently to pay utilities with QR codes.
Ultimately not having a bank account has not been an issue (yet at least).
