Contribute to Midlife Nomads

Midlife Nomads is a publication for location-independent adults navigating reinvention after 40.

We publish honest, experience-driven stories about remote work, travel, coliving, identity shifts, and building a life that feels deliberate, not by default.

If you have lived experience to share, we’d love to hear from you.

Midlife Nomads is a curated publication that reaches a growing global audience of midlife professionals exploring remote work, travel, and reinvention. We’re thoughtful and selective about what we publish.

Become a Guest Columnist

We welcome pitches from writers, remote professionals, founders, and midlife adventurers with firsthand experience in:

  • Coliving and shared living after 40

  • Career pivots in midlife

  • Divorce, reinvention, and starting over

  • Long-term travel or slow travel

  • Financial independence and remote income

  • Navigating identity shifts in your 40s, 50s, and beyond

  • The emotional realities of location independence

Strong submissions are:

  • Reflective, not performative

  • Grounded in real experience

  • Specific rather than generic

  • Honest about nuance and complexity

  • Free of hype and hustle culture language

We value insight over inspiration.

What We Don’t Publish

We do not accept:

  • AI-generated or heavily templated content

  • Generic SEO listicles

  • Backlink-driven guest posts

  • Promotional content disguised as editorial

  • Cryptocurrency, gambling, or unrelated SaaS pitches

  • Thin affiliate roundups

If your primary goal is link placement, we are not the right fit.

Tone & Voice

Midlife Nomads is:

  • Warm

  • Observant

  • Intelligent

  • Slightly wry

  • Emotionally aware

  • Free of influencer tone

We avoid exaggerated claims, clickbait headlines, and motivational clichés.

Write like a thoughtful adult speaking to other thoughtful adults.

Submission Guidelines

Before pitching, please:

  1. Read at least three recent articles to understand our tone.

  2. Submit a short pitch (200–300 words) outlining:

    • Your proposed topic

    • Why it matters to midlife readers

    • Your personal connection to it

  3. Include links to previous writing (if available).

We rarely accept fully written, unsolicited drafts.

Editorial Guidelines

  • 800–1,200 words preferred

  • Clear structure with logical subheadings

  • First-person voice encouraged

  • 100% original and unpublished

  • No promotional or affiliate links (if unsure, ask)

  • Clean, concise writing — no filler

Quality matters more than length.

Editorial Process

If your pitch is accepted:

  • You’ll receive feedback and light editorial revisions.

  • We reserve the right to adjust headlines and formatting.

  • All content must be original and unpublished elsewhere.

  • We request first-publication rights for two weeks. After that, you’re welcome to republish your piece on your website, social media, or portfolio with clear attribution and a link back to Midlife Nomads as the original publisher.

We aim to maintain a thoughtful, cohesive voice across the publication.

Compensation

At this stage, Midlife Nomads offers:

  • Featured exposure to a growing, engaged audience

  • Author bio with links

  • Promotion via newsletter and social channels

Sponsored & Brand Content

If you represent a company or organization interested in sponsored content, please request our media kit from hello@midlifenomads.com

Sponsored editorial is clearly labeled and must meet our educational and editorial standards.

How to Pitch

Send your pitch to:

hello@midlifenomads.com
Subject line: Contributor Pitch – [Your Proposed Title]

We review pitches on a rolling basis and respond within 2–3 weeks.

If you don’t hear back, it simply means the piece wasn’t the right fit at this time.

Final Note

Midlife isn’t a niche. It’s a life stage full of nuance, courage, and reinvention.

If you have something real to say about that journey, we’re listening.
