St Fagans National History Museum

This unique open-air National History Museum is actually a fully restored and functioning Welsh village. It includes a Blacksmith, Clog Maker, Farmers Market, Terrace Houses, The Grocery Store, Post Office and many more buildings! You can wander through this village and participate or just watch the many activities and traditional crafts on display each day. You can really get the feeling you are a part of history.

The neighboring stately St Fagans Castle and grounds  form part of the museum experience. A tour through the castle gives you a real glimpse back in time. It reveals not only the grand formal spaces and sumptuous living quarters, but also the backrooms and hallways where servants would have worked tirelessly behind the scenes to keep the castle running.

You could easily spend a whole day here, there is so much to see and do. Take a picnic basket and a rug and enjoy the extensive gardens of the castle.
